blog love- easy peasy organic

Delicious recipes? Bucketloads. Sustainability and thrifting, heaps and heaps. Lovely photos, ohmygoodness.

I really like this blog, it's one of those blogs which effortlessly mixes the personal life and thoughts of the genuine and lovely Amanda, with wonderful cooking resources (amazing recipes! how to make pickles! applesauce! with a very handy reference for tricky ingredients too!) and a good dash of thrifty sense and sustainable/eco ideas. She also writes elsewhere, like this post on how to shop for second hand clothes. And has an etsy store too.

Read it to be inspired and go buy a thrifted dress, make your own lipbalm, and cook a feast.

Thanks Amanda, you rock my blog world.

blog love- upon a fold

(all images from the shop)

A collection of paper art, supplies, books, and general paper-y goodness. The blog has lovely photos and stories and a list of extraordinary paper artists, and the shop is drool-worthy; you can find out more about it all here. What a lovely place to visit.

blog love- eye snacks

Oh I do love the very pretty embroidery, art and photography from Dutch based artist Ingrid. Her blog is lovely, her portfolio is beautiful, she is down-to-earth and creative, and you can also buy some of her work as postcards to send to your friends (or keep for yourself)! What more can you ask for? Oh, that she also has an online vintage shop full of treasures? (I like these) Sure, she has that too!

Thanks Ingrid, you rock my blog world.
(and
Limuna you are super-cute)

blog love- hyperbole and a half

Have you read this blog? Do. Do it now. It is hilarious. This is one of my favorite posts, how a fish almost destroyed my childhood. And also this is why I'll never be an adult. Oh and you must read The God of Cake. And if you have a dog (or not, actually), don't forget dogs don't understand basic concepts. Just read it all.

Warning: do not drink hot liquid or operate heavy machinery while reading. Explosive laughter may result in injury. Seriously.

blog love- daily cootie catcher

via skiptomylou
do you remember paper fortune tellers? We used to make them in primary school, and they'd usually predict dire fortunes like marrying a yucky boy, or statements that we were, in fact, a monkey.

Well the daily cootie catcher is full of them. One every day, actually (I found it via 365 days). Except they are awesome. Need help choosing a cocktail? There's one for that. Want to know your wrestling name? There's one for that too. Need to generate office gossip/ predict your blogging fortune/ decide whether to call him/ not sure if you should run away and join the circus or not? They're all covered.

Even better, they are all printable and come with instructions (just in case it's been a while) so you can print them out and try them on your friends. AND instructions to make your own.

How ace!

blog love- Animalarium

Shino Arihara

Oh, I just found this blog. I'm not sure how. Sudden influx of lovely illustrations and sculptures all in lovely animal guise totally swept my previous thought processes away. It celebrates animals as endless sources of creative inspiration and explores the finest in art, illustration, crafts and design from around the world featuring animals, both real and fantastic.

It's ALL fantastic. If you like animals, and picture books, and art; well then. Lovely.

Thanks zookeeper Laura,

Animalarium rocks my blog world.

blog love- birds for brains

Shayla has a lovely blog. She's a lovely person too. She's helping me make a blog button. Even if she wasn't, I'd recommend her blog. She writes about her everyday adventures, with lovely photos and sentiments and craftiness too. Plus she has ace tattoos.

Go see. Go on.

letters & blog love- goodnight little spoon

I've been writing letters since I've been here in the country with dodgy reception. Letters are nice, you can hold them and keep them and are prettier than emails (my messy handwriting aside). I can use my typewriter or my favourite pen, or coloured pencils, and pop in little treasures, like a tiny flat rock I found at the beach, or a photo, or cut-out quote.
.
.
But no one does letters like Bianca does letters. Letters, packages, parcels, postcards; beautifully, eclectically, interestingly, artistically wrapped, full of lovely surprises. She loves mail and red mail boxes and has cute dresses and is thinking of getting a little mail tattoo. I love.

Visit her blog; you can write her a letter, or get a free postcard. You can join her Monday Five meme. There are sweet envelopes, labels and writing paper to download for free, or see some of her incoming mail or outgoing mail and get all letter-y inspired.

.
.

Go Bianca. you rock my blog world.

(This all reminds me of the Envelope Project. Do you think Pip will have another one?)

blog love- forgotten fancies

In Forgotten Fancies, a lass named Carmen is documenting everything she owns (drawn with information about where she got it and it's significance in her life) one by one, in an attempt to learn about excess and what is important in her life. Plus a bit of everyday adventures, nice things and sewing projects, makes a very nice blog indeed.

Go Carmen!

blog love- brunette bombshell

This is a blog I found recently, on one of those random link-clicking trips in blog land that happen when something looks interesting, then something else look captivating, which leads to something extraordinary.

It is a very nice blog, about a brunette (bet you saw that coming) and her vespa dreams, and journey to become a healthier and stronger lass, with a nice dollop of gorgeous writing in between. My favourite ones are the love letters. Read them from the early ones. Sigh.
She has a way of articulating heartbreak that makes you feel both completely understood and almost grateful for it, as if it were a poetic necessity to reach the dreams and hope lying just beyond the-part-where-you-can't-breathe. And feeling understood makes it easier to step back and grab a hurt with two hands; to examine it and make sense of it so you can put it down and walk away.

blog love- junkculture

(from Kindra Murphy via Junkculture)

Junkculture is an ace blog. really ace. if you like old things, and kitch-y things, and classic design things, and arty things, and graphic design things, and collections of all these things, well then; you will think it's ace too.

They have a shop too, full of cute and retro things. Please don't buy the whale salt and pepper shakers though. They're mine.

I wanted to show you some more pictures of my favourite things, so I popped over there to choose some. An hour later I haven't decided, so you'll just have to go over there yourself and choose your own, k?

blog love- start something new

Laura at start something new writes with an honesty about important inner-self stuff in a sweet, refreshing way. Like sparkly ginger ale.

Her posts often make me tilt my head sideways and stare into the distance a little bit, and think. Or hold my shoulders back, and stride off into the world. The quotes she uses do too.

Laura is doing a creative writing course, which shows in the quality of her writing, and she is optimistic too, so even in a down-a-bit bit she still manages to be sunny and quite funny, and her posts about romance.. *sigh*... well. Plus she has an ace to-do list on the side bar there. There're all things I'd quite like to do, too.

Do go visit. Pour a cup of tea (or coffee, is coffee is your cup of tea) and go for a wander over there.

Go Laura. You rock my blog world.

blog love of the week- swiss miss

Do you know Swissmiss?

It is not only a lovely person but a design blog too, full of interesting posts about design-y things, typefaces, creativity and designers. I have found lots of interesting articles and new-favourite-blogs and swoon-worthy ideas and products there. I would try to explain it more, but really, just go check it out.

blog love of the week- man bloggers

This week I pass on my hurrah's to the man bloggers all over the wide web. (does anyone say that anymore? world wide web?)

Lots of my bloggy friends are lovely gals, but I do very much like lots of guy blogs too, there just doesn't seem to be as many. These ones are some of my favourites.

Mr London Street is funny. Very funny. Get a cuppa and settle in for a good read and a laugh; if dry, occasionally acerbic wit is your cup of tea. I read lots of lovely sweet blogs (which I adore) but it's nice to get a unexpected kick in the pants with a hilarious and not-quite-politically correct metaphor every now and then. Plus every weekend he does a 100 word post on a topic submitted by a reader, which makes for fascinating, succinct and curious stories. I like.

...my life, nothing more, nothing less... Rolley grows heirloom veges, knits like a demon, grows his own coffee, has 3 beautiful kidlets (I love this photo) and loves a good rum. He blogs about all of these things as well as some philosophical wonderings and music love. Also camping and rafting and bushwalking too. I think he's damn ace. He's also an old friend of mine, which makes him even more ace!

Dude Craft If you don't know this dude, you are seriously missing out on some cool shit. Seriously, Go.Look.Right.Now. Stuff that makes you turn your head sideways and gasp.

Don't delay.

Leos Lego Lab Okay, so Leo is 5 years old, but he will be a man, so that sorta counts, right? As you can guess from the title, his blog about his love for lego and his awesome lego creations, but also other things like his drawings and sewing projects and cool things he sees. I enjoy his 5 year old voice and it makes me want to keep lego in my lounge room.

Draw Dimension Ari is ten. His blog is about things he draws and things he is interested in. I like it too (and he's even closer to manhood than Leo up there, so he totally qualifies for a post about man-bloggers) I especially like this drawing. He's also seen every now and again on his mum's blog.

Monsterosity This Aussie dude makes killer toys (I sure like this one) and lives in Tokyo. 'Nuff said.
.

.

So thanks dudes. You rock my blog world.

.Who are your favourite man bloggers?

(edit)

Ohmygoodness I can't believe I forgot Made By Joel. Joel makes awesome stuff for his twin kidlets, usually from simple things in every house. I would link to my favourite but I love THEM ALL. Awesome. I secretly want him to be my dad. or at least an uncle or something. Or maybe we could hang out. Thanks so much Camille for reminding me!
